Before we even consider a breeding there must be a purpose for it, much time and consideration is put into whom we will breed to. I look at several things: health testing, pedigree, conformation, temperaments, what the male is producing and how he may compliment the female we are breeding. It is a long process to find what we hope to be the perfect match to improve upon the breed.
Our puppies are raised inside our home with the utmost of love. They are whelped in our bedroom and stay their for the first 3 weeks they are then moved to the main area of the house where they are introduced to lots of stimulation. I believe in early neurological stimualtion and follow a daily schedule as outlined in a article found on the DPCA website. I feel the early neurological stimulation coupled with proper handling and socialization produces puppies that are superior, they have an outstanding start to life. If you would like to read more on the advantages of the early neurological stimulation CLICK HERE.
When we have puppies it is a fulltime job as we are all very active in their raising. Everyone is handled daily. On top of being used to all types of surfaces and sounds they have mini agility equiptment and toys that are constantly changing to boost their confidence and challenge their senses. I take great pride in finding quality homes where these puppies will continue to be loved, socialized and trained. That they may exemplify the highest standard of the Doberman breed: intelligent, protective, loving loyal family dogs! All of our puppies are sold on a spay- neuter contract unless sold to approved show homes.
Before even considering a Doberman I recommend doing a lot of research. They are not the dog for everyone! A great place to find wonderful articles and information to read is on the DPCA website. This is a working dog, extremely intelligent and very loyal. They are known as the velcro dog and need to play an active part in the lives of their families.
